Before your session
These are just a few random tid-bits of things I've learned in preparing for sessions, prior to the day of .....
- Not sure what to wear? Imagine your portrait hanging on the wall in your family room, hallway, or bedroom. You want the colors/tones of your portrait to reflect your decor. This will make your portrait look like a planned work of art, rather than a haphazard "Let's fill this space with this picture. It would fit." If you prefer the mismatched eclectic look, then don't worry so much about your outfit colors. It's all good!
- Tiny patterns, busy patterns, and words across the chest, rarely photograph well.
- For the love of all things that are good, do not wear neon.
- Make sure your nails are clean. Remove chipped polish and dirt.
- Moisturize. Head to toe. Make-up will go on smoother and flaky skin will be minimal.
- Sleep well. You do not want red, watery eyes.
- Ladies, choose the right bra. Appropriate style and color for whatever you're wearing over it.
- Clean your shoes.
- I might have you go barefoot. Make sure your feet are presentable, too.
- (I'm sure I'll think of more and will add to this list. But in the meantime, if you have any questions, please ask!)
